Remember Sharon from the Spring 07 issue?

Who with her fiancé Stuart Mitchell planned to go marry in Cuba? Well Sharon has gone and come back, very married and ecstatic from her wedding experience abroad.

Sharon’s and Stuart’s big day started in style with the couple and twenty-four of their close family and friends. En-route to Cuba they stopped in London on Valentine’s Day to spend a quiet night in a hotel as they had a 5.30am check-in, but alas the night ended up not so quiet as the couple and their happy entourage partied into the night and barely got a wink of sleep.

They finally arrived in Cuba to meet delicious cocktails waiting to greet them at the hotel’s reception. The hotel in her words was ‘stunning’, heaven was already knocking.

They met up with Belkis, their wedding coordinator to discuss venue, flowers etc., everything was so easy and stress free. Belkis then took the happy couple to the Gazebo on the beach (where they were to get married) and rehearsed walking down the aisle. The venue was spectacular.

Luckily for the couple they had four days before the wedding to explore and relish the beautiful island as well as rest and enjoy themselves.

On the eve of the wedding the boys went out deep sea fishing while the girls drank cocktails by the pool before dining at an excellent a la carte restaurant.

The big morning came with the sun shining, birds chirping, air crisp and fresh with love radiating from above. Everything was chilled and laid back; the girls all went for a lovely breakfast and relaxed at the spa afterwards.

Meanwhile the hotel had delivered marvellous flowers to their room; the bride had a bouquet of red roses while the bridesmaids had pink. At this point even though the bridal party was running late, the bride remained calm.

The wedding was scheduled for 3p.m. and running a little late, bridesmaids were still trying to tie the brides dress properly and apply her make-up. After finally getting the dress right, a chauffeured beautifully decorated golf cart came to get the bride and her aunt who was giving her away.
The calm groom had been waiting in the hot sun for thirty minutes! The groom, best man and groomsmen all wore light weight kilts, black shirts, red rose button holes and flip-flops on their feet. The effect was incredible.
