Preparations are in top gear for the wedding nuptials between Sarah Mulvany and her beau local hero, Troop Commander Harry Lobban. Lt Lobban is currently serving in Baghdad where he is among a specially selected group of British troops chosen for their high ability and calibre to escort diplomats through central Baghdad.
The groom-to-be is determined to make it back for his wedding scheduled for July at Kings College Chapel based at the University of Aberdeen. The brave couple met at University where both were members of the Officer Training Corps.
Harry, originally from Crieff in Perthshire left for Iraq in October last year just months after a romantic proposal on Aberdeen beach to Sarah, who is currently studying medicine at the University of Aberdeen. When asked how she was coping, Sarah says she trusts in Harry’s ability and that organising the wedding with the help of Dedicated 2 Weddings serves as a distraction.
Preparations for the big day were underway before Harry left for Baghdad and Sarah has been keeping him up to date through their constant letters and emails between each other. Although Sarah is nervous about Harry’s being away she knows it is his job and with having been together in the OTC she knows how well he plans all his work and has every confidence he and all the boys will come home safely for the wedding. Even though the couple have prepared by taking-out wedding insurance, the groom emphatically intends to make it to the altar in time. Harry added “Hopefully, my fiancée won’t need to call on the wedding insurance. The date is set and I plan to make it back in time for our very special day”.
Dedicated 2 Weddings are delighted at being involved in providing guidance to help the bride and her bridesmaid plan for the big day and would like to take this opportunity to wish both Harry and Sarah all the very best. We look forward to bringing you the exciting story of their big day in the next edition! It is bound to be full of pomp, pageantry, patriotism and love. Expect to see all the traditions and sophistication associated with a military wedding in the Winter 07 edition. |
