Derek and I met at work, when an organisational change took place and we moved into the same office. After a few months we finally got together at Christmas and a couple of years later, we got engaged at the top of the Empire State Building.

We wanted a memorable date for our wedding and by chance, Norwood Hall Hotel had a cancellation for 07/07/07. It was just perfect!

We did not have time to do all the planning so we booked an appointment with Margaret, The Dream Wedding Planner. Margaret went through everything and we were sure that we needed her guidance on planning our special day.

We provided Margaret with a list of things we wanted. For example, we gave her ideas of types of cars we liked, and she would get information from three different suppliers. We would then choose one and she would book it on our behalf. She would find alternatives if any of the information was not exactly what we were looking for….nothing was too much trouble. With her local knowledge and contacts, she always got us the best deal possible. The main benefits were the flexibility of what she could do. Not only does she organise everything, but offers useful suggestions to discuss.

She kept us regularly informed on progress, telling us what we needed to do, like when to get our marriage licence, and tips on wedding etiquette in general.

We were married at Kintore Parish Church where 110 guests joined us and later we enjoyed our reception at Norwood Hall Hotel. We had the most wonderful day. The car, from Elegant Beau Cars was exceptional, as was our cake from Cakes by Fiona Barnett who knew we wanted something a bit different. Tying in the US theme, we went for a silhouette of the New York skyline on the bottom layer and the top tier had a volcano to represent Hawaii where we went on our honeymoon. Flowers by Judith produced the perfect bouquet and Portra Photographic Services ensured our day was captured forever. Overall, our day was everything we wished for, thanks to Margaret – truly a Dream Wedding Planner!
