It was Christmas 2005 when Andy made the unexpected but romantic proposal. Although I was lost for words, I could not refuse. A few months later we started to plan the wedding. It was a daunting thought - we did not know where to start.
As we live in Edinburgh but were getting married in Aberdeen, we found it difficult to identify suppliers in the Grampian area. My sister Lynn gave me a copy of Dedicated 2 Weddings Magazine, which made it easy to find all the suppliers we required.
A definite must for any bride-to-be is also the Dedicated 2 Weddings Advisory Manual. It clearly guided us through the planning stages step by step with tips on everything that we required and when to do it. It was great having all our information in one place – from keeping track of our budget to organising the seating plan!
Our wedding day was truly wonderful. Everything ran to perfection. Arriving at Midstocket Parish Church I stepped out of the beauford car from Elegant Beau Cars dressed in a beautiful Mori Lee Dress from Our Day Wedding Shop. My brother walked me into the church to the magnificent sound of the pipes. Our two bridesmaids in gorgeous cappuccino dresses followed me accompanied by the pageboy dressed in a cute little kilt, that matched with the groom and best man. After the service, we drove to the Norwood Hall and were surprised to see all guests waiting out on the lawn to greet us. We then sat down to the speeches and a delicious meal. Then as the evening guests arrived, the 3-tier cake decorated in pink hearts from Kelly of Cults was cut. Everyone then happily danced the night away until the early hours in the morning.
Mementos are special to us and our photographer Simon Clubb made everyone feel at ease on the day – even those who are usually camera shy! Our videographer Jim Wedderburn mingled with everyone capturing our special day for us.
Dedicated 2 Weddings have since personalised our wedding manual, so we now have a lovely keepsake of our entire wedding experience.
